Keeping the Body Warm in Daily Life - Traditional Chinese Medicine Chapter
Eat more foods that soothe the meridians
Many aromatic foods have a soothing effect on emotions, while also significantly unblocking the meridians, making the circulation of qi and blood in the meridians naturally smooth, allowing the warm yang qi to spread throughout the body. For example, roses and peppermint, adding them to three meals not only has a beautiful color and fragrant scent, but also has a good effect on soothing meridians.
Comb your hair a hundred times
In ancient times, it was called "comb hair". Use your fingers or comb to "comb your hair" from the front of your forehead to the back of your pillow, from the temporal area on both sides to the top of your head, every 50-100 times. The best time to comb your hair is after waking up in the morning. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the various meridians of the human body converge on the head. When combing the hair, it is necessary to pass through nearly 50 acupoints such as Meichong, Tongtian, Baihui, Yintang, Yuzhen, Fengchi, etc., to stimulate these acupoints and promote scalp blood circulation and unblock the meridians.
Hot water foot bath
There are 66 acupuncture points on our feet, accounting for about 1/10 of the total body acupuncture points. Soaking our feet in hot water can promote the smooth flow of meridians and blood vessels throughout the body, and improve the symptoms of cold hands and feet in winter. If some hot medicinal herbs such as star anise, safflower, cinnamon, and ginger can be added to the decoction, the effect will be better.
Yoga Lotus Sitting
In a normal sitting posture, bend the left leg, place the dorsum of the left foot on the groin of the right thigh, place both hands on the left knee cap, and gently move the left knee up and down several times to make it as close to the ground as possible. Repeat with the right leg. By persistently practicing this action, multiple ligaments can be moved, allowing the muscles that have tightened throughout the body to be fully extended and maintaining smooth meridians.
