A recent US study found that wearing red clothes is more attractive to the opposite sex, United Daily News reported.
Research shows that this may be because red triggers primitive instincts, associated with sex. And it was found that when women wear crimson or crimson clothes, men are more willing to date them and therefore are more willing to spend more money on them.
The study, conducted by the University of Rochester in New York, was published in the Journal of Personality and social psychology.
The study first showed the male subjects a photo of a so-called plain looking young woman wearing various colors of clothing, including red, white, gray, green, etc.
More than 100 men, most of whom are from the University of Rochester department, were asked to rate how beautiful this woman is, how much she wants to kiss them, and how much she wants to have sexual intercourse with them after seeing these photos. Even for the same person, men find the one in red more attractive.
Another batch of photos shows a woman wearing a shirt of different colors, with red once again receiving attention. Men are willing to spend twice as much money on women in red as on women in blue.
Even so, men still insist that the color of their clothing will not affect their choices, indicating that they have not realized the charm of red at all.
Research has also found that men wearing red clothes are more attractive to women. Elliott stated that this may be a very deep biological tendency influence, with a preference for red being a product of evolutionary legacy.
