Frequent urination and laborious urination. Be careful. The prostate gland has found you
Prostatic hypertrophy is a common disease in elderly men. Due to prostatic hyperplasia, pressing the urethra can cause difficulty in urination, and eventually lead to urethral obstruction, resulting in urinary retention, which brings great pain to elderly patients.
"Because the symptoms of prostate hypertrophy develop gradually, often over a period of several years, the initial symptoms are not obvious.". So, what are the early signs of the current columnar hypertrophy before it develops to urinary retention?
1. Frequency of urination
Frequent urination is a major symptom in the early stages of prostate hypertrophy, especially increased nocturnal urination. Patients can urinate 2 to 5 times or more every night, which is due to prostate hyperplasia causing posterior urethral obstruction. It hinders normal urination, making it impossible to completely drain the urine in the bladder every time you urinate, and there is always a small amount of urine remaining in the bladder. This reduces the volume of the bladder, so after the previous urination, there will be a tendency to urinate again soon, resulting in frequent urination.
2. Effort in urination
Another symptom in the early stage of prostate hypertrophy can be manifested as laborious urination, especially when it takes a lot of effort to urinate, and the urine flow that is excreted is very thin, and the distance from the urine flow to the outside is also very short. When some patients urinate, due to holding their breath for too long, and when they need to exhale, the urine flow is interrupted with the decrease in abdominal pressure, and it takes another effort to make the urine continue to be excreted, resulting in intermittent urination.
These all indicate that hyperplasia of the prostate has produced a certain degree of pressure on the urethra.
Therefore, once the elderly men have these signals mentioned above, they should not be left to listen. They should go to the hospital for early diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible. At the same time, they should avoid drinking alcohol and eating stimulating food, prevent colds, reduce sexual intercourse, and avoid worsening the condition. Otherwise, the continuous development of the disease will lead to acute urinary retention, which is very painful.
